Elder Dallin's letter 2/15/15

Elder Dallin's letter 2/15/15

Dearest family,

Wow. What a crazy week!! Being in a YSA is so different! I think I forgot to tell you guys that's what I am in now. There's 4 YSA's here in Fresno, and I'm in one of them!! But I want to tell you guys more about Elder Berry! He's been out about 6 months, so I'm not actually training him ( I think that I was unclear on that with my last email) and he's from Ogden!! He can't see further than about 20 yards, he has an Ipad to read things with, and he's constantly adjusting his glasses so he can see what he can out of them. And his jaw was broken when he was shaken as a baby, and it healed incorrectly, so he is always in pain. And he has tendinitis in his left ankle, and his eyes are always hurting. Can't lie, I wish I could take back every time that I have ever complained about something. And he gets mad when I start feeling bad for him because "there's plenty of people that have it worse than him." And he's got a skin condition that makes it so that his skin scabs if he's in the sun too long. And he's has yet to complain about one thing. I love him so much and he looks up to me like I'm a super model because he's had 2 of my new missionaries as companions, so they talked me up like crazy hahah! Chums!! He says that he loves to be with me and gets along so well with me!! He's seriously the best.

As far as the new area goes, We're actually covering a whole zone because I'm in the YSA, so we have a car, and we are in it driving all day. It's quite the adjustment from being on a bike, but I'm loving it! It's quite different being in a sacrament meeting that is completely silent and teaching people that have drama issues in church! Hahah! But as of right now, we have about 2 investigators, and we haven't seen any of them because they are avoiding us. So we have been teaching members day in and day out and asking for referrals. But we're going to be trying out finding at a nearby college also. It'll be different for sure! Haha!

This week I called all the sisters in my district and we had a district lunch!! It was really fun and we got to know each other better! One of them is in training, so I'm going to do my best to help her feel welcome and stuff.

But I just heard from Jesse, and he's thinkin about going to BYU-I also!! I tried to convince him because he's thinking about going to Utah State too. But it would be so fun to be roommates with him!

I'm so happy that the girls are so excited about dancing!! That's so fun, and I can't wait to see them and see how far they've come!! But holy cow mom!! I had no idea that you wanted to go back to school!! That would be so awesome to do!! I didn't know you liked school that much!! OH!! I have a question! Everyone asks when you guys were born for some reason, and I don't know what to tell them, so could you guys tell me when you and Dad were born? Thanks, oh! Also could you tell me how old Britney, Lyndsie, Emrie, and Kaylee are? Being out here so long has made it so I have totally forgotten. Embarrassing, I know.

But I love you guys so much, you have no idea. You are just the best family that I could ever ask for. Your testimonies that you share with me are truly inspirational and it gives me a desire to have one as strong as you guys. Thank you for all the private sacrifices that you have done for me and for Tanner and Tyler. Thank you so MUCH!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Dear Dad,

If you could be so kind as to share some insights about the lesson you taught about Agency that would be so awesome!! I've been studying a lot about that and trying super hard to grow in my testimony and conversion to the value of allowing other people their agency, and how it's an eternal principle or a celestial principle! That is really cool about the insights about quickening! I can literally see that here on the mission with the other missionaries! I'm trying my best not to judge, but it's pretty apparent by their actions.
I love that! We either serve the Lord or the sin. It makes me re-define my definition of sin almost. This week, it has become apparent to me that ANYTHING that even takes us away from God is a sin. Example. I am approached by other missionaries asking about how I was feeling after working out (I have been slightly sick these passed few days) and I say I'm doing fine. They ask about me some more, and I reply with satisfactory answers. They leave. I didn't do anything to WRONG them, but I did less good than I could have done. I could have shown more charity by looking outside of my discomforts and asked about how they were doing, and asked about them in general.
I'm working on charity a lot this week, and it's been so motivating because as I pray every night for charity, I see evidence of my ability to love grow!! It goes perfectly with your advice about being a trainer!!

So a little about this week and me,
First of all, Elder Blaser has a slight case of diarrhea of the mouth, but I have come to love it, because it's such a change from last transfer! I don't even need music in the car anymore! ;)
He's a super enthusiastic Elder that is going to be such a great missionary! He has a burning testimony about living the gospel and preaching by example much more than teaching! He played football and basketball in high school, but suffers from asthma problems. His favorite thing about the gospel is families. He always relates everything to families and teaches how the gospel blesses families very powerfully! He was in  an 80s rock band that he organized back home, and he's always talking about it, and singing songs like Faithfully, Jump, and soo many more of the 80s classics! It's fun to listen to, but I try to encourage mission-appropriate songs, and don't sing along. His plans after the mission are to open a multi-genre recording studio and live the dream of the band :) He's from the Mesa area, and he's here for 2 transfers waiting for his visa to the Philippines! He's so awesome! I love him!!

One night, we had a rifle pulled on us!! One of our investigators wasn't used to night time visitors, but we got the feeling to visit him and encourage him in between our visits, when we knocked, he went out the back door, and came around the corner where we were with a rifle pointed at us!! hahaha I know this man pretty well, and he has a heart of gold, so I was only slightly concerned, and more confused why he had a freakin gun in his hands! hahah turns out he'd been ignorantly housing a wanted fugitive, and the Sherriff knocked on his door the night before wanting to know where the dude was, and Frank told him that he kicked this guy out the day before, so he was just being "careful" with bringing a gun with him. hahaha Elder Blaser was literally shaking and going hysterical when we got in our car! hahaha It was the funniest thing to just listen to him go on and on for a good 12 minutes about how "HE HAD A FREAKIN GUN"!  To to make matters better, we got the strong feeling to go visit this really sweet inactive lady.  When we got there, her meth-addict daughter had "finally come home" to a lengthy lawsuit dealing with custody issues.  She was all twitchy and scratching herself all over. She was really intense, and twitched her head as she talked hahah  It was such a great night!! One to remember for sure! :)

I'm short on time, so I'll share my insights from the scriptures next week! I love you too! Have the best week of your life this week! (it's your choice after all!)
Love,
Elder Judy

Elder Tanner's letter 2/9/15

Dear loved ones,
this week has been quite a crazy week! So Tuesday was my last day to say goodbye to members in my area, which was like leaving home again because I had gotten really close with many of the members, but they all wished me well and it was a good experience to see the support they had for me. The bishop "requested" me to bear my testimony that Sunday, so I felt pretty honored.
Wednesday was transfers obviously, we got taken, by a member, to an all you can eat Asian buffet which was DELICIOUS.  A very nice 'welcome to Killeen' then we met our companions and got settled into our apartment.  We went and met the bishop and asked if there was anything we needed to do for him, and got to know each other better.
Then we had a bible study class that the missionaries have been teaching that we went and participated in, but Elder Fullmer was feeling really sick so we went into the bathroom and he threw up about 3 times. When we got home he said he needed to rest and so he threw up again into the toilet and proceeded to rest, so I was left to plan our first day by myself.
About the area briefly: its borders are are right alongside the biggest military base in the world! So regularly we hear tanks going off and earth rattling booms! Pretty freaking awesome.  We hear the trumpets for meals and wake up calls! Dream come true!! I love it!, but it is pretty much in the middle of NO WHERE right next to the no where that I'm used to.
So, I called the elders in my district to get acquainted with them, and upon calling elder and sister Durfee ( the military relations older couple serving on the base) they told me I had a baptismal interview that next day!  I was feeling a little overwhelmed at this point to be completely honest!  I decided to pray and got a feeling of peace, also a feeing of " yep, this is the way it is, your not used to it now, but you will!" so that was comforting.
Thursday was weekly planning which went pretty well for the most part.  It was a lot of Elder fullmer teaching me about the area and the investigators and what not, and I came to figure out that his last companion did most of the thinking and deciding. He wasn't totally sure what was going on in most of the cases, so it feels like there will be a lot of learning together.
We got ready for the interview and the Durfee's took us to the church for it.  All in all the interview went really well! I was very pleased with the outcome! I got to know him at first, he is a staff sergeant for the army, and we connected right of the bat because I did a H.A.T. camp with a staff sergeant during football season with a staff sergeant so it was cool to talk briefly about that stuff. Then we read a scripture and did the interview, and He was found worthy to enter into the covenant of baptism and it was all together an uplifting experience!
Friday we biked into a secluded part of our area and did some work over there, and we saw 6 black hawk helicopters fly right over head! It was amazing!!
Saturday we had our first District Leader Counsel  which was just great. I got to see my trainer in action as a zone leader and we got to share a very cool experience counseling together as previous trainer-trainee companions about the needs of the zone as district leader and Zone leader. Then we ended up teaching 2 RCLAs and 2 other lessons which was the most the area has seen in about 3 weeks total! so that was exciting.  We met a less active family who has 9 kids! I thought having 6 siblings was a lot!  That was fun!
Sunday we learned a great lesson about being happy in elders quorum, and about how our spirits are truly what make us happy so we need to focus and learn about what will make our spirits happy and do them.   I really enjoyed it. I felt like it was something I needed at that time because I was starting to slip into an " oh no" mentality but the lesson really helped bring my vision back up to where it needs to be.
I also collected numbers for the first time from my district which was kind of stressful, because I forgot to get a name from one companionship, then I wasn't able to get the baptismal record to the Durfees at the baptism so the bishop wasn't able to sign it so we have to do that today. I took confidence in the answer to my prayer I had gotten recently of " yep, this is the way it is, your not used to it now, but you will!"
Overall I am very confident that me and Elder Fullmer will get along very well!  We both have a desire to follow the mission rules with exactness and work hard so I feel great about this upcoming transfer!

Elder Tyler's letter 2/2/2015

Elder Tyler's letter 2/2/2015

Dear Mom,

First things first, I realized how many tools and promises the Lord has given me.  Some of these tools and promises are things like hymns.  That has been really helpful, because this was an extended transfer, and this week was the hardest week.  I'm just glad I made it out alive! haha   I have such a strong testimony of my Savior and how much he loves me.   Normally when I think about "giving my burdens to the Savior" in any way at all, i.e. sins, temptations, afflictions, I used to think that I was throwing them into the eternal pit of the Atonement or allowing the fire of the Atonement burn them off of me.  What I came to realize this week is that when I use the Atonement, I am giving my sins to my brother Jesus Christ.  When I vent to my Heavenly Father pleading for relief from a hard time, I am giving that burden to a person.  That person loves me so much, he WANTS my hard times and pains so that I don't have to suffer for them!  I know now more than ever that the Savior truly is the only way the truth and the Light that illuminates our promise of Eternal Life.

Mom, I love you so much!!  This email was something special :)  I really drank deeply from your words.  I could feel the love you have for me and I feel like I have a blanket around my heart :)  I wouldn't worry about me anymore!  The Savior is literally right next to me I feel like sometimes!  ANY time my lot in life gets too hard for me to bear, I place it on the rock of my redeemer, and I am happy amidst my tria....lessons :)

Transfers were this week!  I am training a new missionary!!  His name is Elder Blaser!! (promounced Blazer) He's so fired up to work!!  I would say that he's your average Elder Calhoon, but that would make me Elder Rodgers, and I don't quite feel like I'm there at all ;)  I am soo stoked to work with him!  Honestly, you take his strong testimony away, and everything else he has going for him, and you leave me with just his desire to work?  I am jumping for joy!!  I may not express it too well right now, because I had to get up at 3:00 am to drive to Tucson and be there before 6:00 am for the training meeting! Then I had to drive all the way back. I'm kinda running on fumes right now, but since reading all these emails, I feel the pressure of sleep lifted like a pair of dumbells!  hahah bad joke. oh well :)

I think it was hilarious about the pictures of the areas!!  You can totally tell which one is Safford cuz it's all open farm land/cactuses!  hahaha  That is Safford for ya.  Gosh I am just so happy!!  This is going to be the best transfer ever!!!  I'm not even nervous one bit about training!  He's got a desire, and that's all that matters! That's the only thing I can't give him, and no one else can give him!  Everything else, I just need to focus on what he needs, and improve in that regard so I can be an adequate example for him!  When I look back on my training, I have forgotten most everything I've been "taught" by my trainer, but I've remembered EVERYTHING I've seen in his example!

i am soo glad things are going so well over there!!!  It literally makes me sooo happy reading any sort of words from you fellas!  Dad, the comment about Emrie was soooo heart-warming!!  I just wanted to hug Elder Blaser next to me :)  hahah  I love you all soo much!!  I don't know much more simply I can say it, but I can literally feel all your prayers for me!!  I WOULD NOT be in the position I am in now with the attitude I have now without your prayers!  I know it!  Your faith is TROO DA ROOF with power!!  Have WONDERFUL weeks all of you!  You all deserve a splendid one :)

Love,
Elder Judy

 Elder Tyler,
I am so sorry I didn't send my letter for you last week.  I had written it and saved it to drafts because I had to get to school and I forgot to pull it up and send it.

I have been worried about you.  I really want to see pictures of your apartment, area, the hike you went on and your companion and other elders you go on splits with.  I want to see what the town looks like and the area that you are in.  These are times and places you won't want to forget.  You will want pictures of everything later.
Did any of the camera cords I sent work for your camera?  I can send a sd drive that you put your sd card into and then plug it into any computer to download your pictures.  Do you have a good sd card?

I also never heard how you spent your Thanksgiving OR Christmas!!  Did you go to a member's house?  I know you were at a member's home when you called us for Christmas but I got the impression you were there for just the call.  Do you have much ward support there yet?  I know you didn't at first but I know you said that had been improving.  Do you get many dinner appointments?

Last weekend was really fun for us.  We drove to Las Vegas for Mary's farewell.  She gave a great talk and she is so excited.  We sang one of my favorite songs..."I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go".
My favorite quote from Mary's talk was "Our Heavenly Father knows us.  He loves us and he hopes we do well on our tests."  She had been talking about being at BYU-Idaho but I thought this could apply to all of us at any time.  We are faced with tests every day.  It was so great.
It was funny to go to Deana's ward.  We both curled our hair the same so everyone thought I was Deana.  Then, dad put his arm around me during sacrament meeting so we would cause a big scandal.  I think we kinda freaked everyone out!
I met a couple in Deana's ward who have identical twins serving right now.  It was crazy to see pictures of then because they both tall with red hair and they look exactly alike!  It was so fun to see!

In my scripture reading, I found a scripture I love.  It's Alma 5:7.  "Behold, he changed their hearts; yea, he awakened them out of a deep sleep, and they awoke unto God.  Behold, they were in the midst of darkness; nevertheless, their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word; yea, they were encircled about by the bands of death, and the chains of hell, and an everlasting destruction did await them."
What a wonderful work you are doing.  I am so grateful for the opportunity you have been given.
I was thinking about the hymn "Hark all Ye Nations"  I have really started to love that hymn.  It has such a great missionary message.  I love the 4th verse.

Chosen by God to serve him below,
To ev'ry land and people we'll go,
Standing for truth with fervent accord,
Teaching his holy word.

I have been remembering all the wonderful things you have done lately.  I appreciate you so much!  You are always so helpful and kind.  I remember a time a Ross Park when you pulled the little boy out of the water in the lazy river.  He had fallen in and his mom was looking for him.  Before I could even call for you to help, you just reached in and grabbed him and set him on the side and made sure his mom got him.
I remember right before you left, there was an older lady walking out into the parking lot of Fred Myer whose grocery bag broke and her groceries spilled out.  You didn't hesitate, you just picked up her groceries and made sure she had a bag that worked.  I am so grateful for you kind, helpful nature.
I saw the picture of the eye patch you crocheted for the sister on the Tucson Mission blog.  How cute!  You need to take more pictures and send them!!!!  I was grateful to get that one!
I try not to say I miss you, but I do miss you!  I am so grateful you are on a mission right now but your presence here is definitely missed.  I love you and cherish all the times we have had together.  I am so grateful you are able to be an influence for good to the people in Arizona right now.  I can't wait to hear how you week went with transfers.  I think it was transfers for Tanner as well.  We will see what happens with him.  I don't think Dallin has transfers this week.
I get calls or texts from this lady in Dallin's area at least once a week.  She is so sweet and just loves the missionaries so much.  She made a really big deal out of Dallin's companion's birthday last week.  She takes them out to dinner or lunch and treats them really well.  I know she doesn't have a lot of money but she is so kind to them.
I get picture texted to me from people in Tanner's mission sometimes too.  I wish I could get some from people there in Arizona!!!!  I would love to see pictures of you and your area.

This week was fun.  It was my first full week as the permanent sub for Ms. Nystrom.  I really like the class.  I am getting to know the kids and trying to teach them the way I would like to have the class go.  It has been fun.  There are several people's kids in our ward who are in the class.  Jett Ockey is one of them.

I just can't wait to hear from you!   I hope all is well.
We love you and are praying for you.  I have a feeling of peace when I have prayed for you.
I love you so much!

Love
momma

Dearest Momma,

Yes!! We have transfers coming up on the 7th!! I always get nervous when transfers come!!

But holy moly!! Connor Johnson and Tannar Ward going on missions? That's crazy!!!

But hey. Make sure Britney gets to PMG!!!! That's a book that is scripture written by modern prophets!! She must read it!!!

But yes!! i love going to ward choir!! I go to every single one in all the wards that I serve in! I love it! I'm not sure, because it depends on who you ask, but I think that I have gotten a lot better at singing!

Things are doing so great here!!! We had a pretty funny experience with teaching a schizophrenic. I'll have to act it when I see you guys again hahah! You see the craziest things out here!! But I heard about how Sister Ward called you hahaha!! She calls me right when you get off the phone with her and tells me everything you guys talk about! And I don't know if you figured it out quite yet, but she does have some mild mental problem. I have no idea what it is, but it's very mild. I love her to death though! She's like our missionary mom! Her son comes out with us on a full day team up with us hahah! Shirt, tie, bike, everything!! And he actually stood up yesterday and bore a 15 minute testimony. It was more like a testistory, but it was awesome none the less!!

I'm out of time for emailing, but I recieved permission to email about college, so I will start doing that from now on. I love you guys so much!! I'll prepare a recording next week and tell you about the people that we are teaching!!! LOVE you GUYS!!!!!!!!!! :)

Elder Tanner's letter 2/2/2015

Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2015 11:50:18 -0600
Dear Family,
Ok first things first.. transfers... so, for the first time on my mission I'm being transferred to a new area!!  AHH!  I feel so safe and warm in this area and ward I don't wanna leave!  So I'm going to Killeen, Texas!  It's the FURTHEST south our mission goes and it has a huge military base in the area so I'm looking at a COMPLETE culture shock.  From soccer mom Utah area to red neck military TEXAS area...   Oh wait... theres more!.....    I'm going to be the district leader.......... I KNOW!!!  I can't believe it...  I'm soo nervous!!!   I have prayed muchly for an increased vision of what I need to become and what the Lord would have me be.
So yeah, this week has been pretty crazy.  Transfer calls and everything made this week SO LONG with many sleepless nights.
Quick investigator update: Kenny has a paralyzed stomach and a mega colon (8x too big) and also with his most recent visit to the hospital he got diagnosed with diabetes insipides..?   So yeah, pretty crazy!  The priests all went down there on Wednesday for mutual and visited him!!  I was soo happy they did that!   Kenny was blown away too and he said " I hope to see you guys at church soon".  This, (in my opinion) is the best part...  He had been a little scared to pray with us after lessons, like he did a few times but it was always kind of a push on our part  (like maybe a prayer before by one of us to help him).  Before they left HE asked THEM if they could pray with him AAND HE wanted to say it!!!  HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!  I was sooo happy when I heard!!
Shelly: we have to drop her bap date cuz she hasn't been to church yet and she won't make the cut for being at church 3x before baptism, plus she still is working on smoking.   It's still a slow going process but we're working with her.
On Friday we had a training for the new leaders which REALLY helped with everything.  It gave me a better Idea of what I'm supposed to be doing as a DL and more confidence that I can actually do it.. but it will be hard.
It has been a good week though.  Sorry this letter is so everywhere.  My mind has been everywhere for a while.  Elder Jacobson and I had some deep talks and we really got into each other's heart and for the first time really I felt like we came to a mutual agreement that we are so different on many levels yet similar in a few key points.  This is why we got to be companions, to learn from eachother and trade our talents so that now instead of 5 we have 10 as the parable goes.
I learned this cool thing this week, faith and fear both have the same exact definitions: things hoped for but not seen, they both lead us to act, and both of them dictate who we become... so who will you be?  A man/woman of Faith or a man/woman of Fear? ... prove it.
I'm going to need all the help I can get this week!  It's just the truth haha so your prayers ARE greatly appreciated and will be greatly appreciated.
Love you all!

Dear Dad,

Ok so I sent a recording regarding transfers but I'll be a little more open with you.  So first things first I am getting transferred to Killeen!  It's the city that Fort Hood is in, it's a big army base!   aanndd I am going to be the district leader.... WHAT?!  Yep, the district leader....   We got the call last Monday so I've settled down quite a bit, but still... im a little nervous!! first transfer out of my area first time being a district leader... I will need lots of help this week.   haha it's just the truth.

What president has told me about my companion is that "he's an interesting elder and you'll need a lot of patience with him.  He has a bit to learn yet about teaching but he's a goood missionary and your gonna love him".  The other missionaries who heard the news have all raised their eyebrows.."...Him? oh man.." and told me how weird he was.  A few of them said that sucks!  haha  That kinda set a strange stage in my mind but I'm not letting it get to me.  I have adopted a mind set of " ok i'll probably need patience, but I won't know til I get there and I'm just going to love him from the start and we'll see where it goes from there" mindset.

That's awesome about mom!  haha  I can totally see her coming home with an armful of stories haha.  I'm so glad she's enjoying it though!  I have been praying for her and you a lot this week.

Yeah lyndsie!!  That's so cool that she loves it so much!  That makes me happy that she's found something to work at and do her best at.   She was already trying to be the best when I left so I can't imagine where she's at now!  That's sweet!

Yeah it was way cool that they got to stop by!!  It BLEW my mind and it was fun!  Kinda derailed my thoughts that night but I recovered and was focused the next morning :)

So yeah!  This week I'll be saying good bye to a lot of members that I gotten to be really close with and then Wednesday it's a new adventure in Killeen!  My address is 1101 horizon drive Unit C Killeen, Texas 76549 :)

Thank you so much for your prayers and love and support!!  They are really felt by me and I know I get strength from them!!

Love Elder Judy

Dear Momma,
So first things first... so yeah they visited him and Kenny said " I hope to see you guys at church soon".  Before they left HE asked THEM if they cold pray with him AAND HE wanted to say it!!! HURRAH FOR ISRAEL! I was sooo happy when I heard!!!!   But yeah, Carson is just a stud, I love that kid!!
2nd things second... transfers.... so I am being transferred to a new area!  Killeen Texas!  It's got a huge military base on it so there are gonna be many more native Texans there.  ALSO... I am going to be the district leader..... I know!!  It's crazy crazy crazy.... I got the call last Monday so I've calmed down a lot and I actually am really excited.. but FREAKING nervous too!  First new area since the MTC AND being the district leader...  I'm gonna need some prayers this week haha.  I've prayed a lot about having Heavenly Father provide me with more vision of who I am and who he wants me to be.
That's so fun to hear about your subbing!  I hope the kids aren't being too troublesome!  haha but then I know how amazing you are in those situations so I'm not even worried;)
That's super fun about skiing!!  I'd love some pictures! :)
Thank you so much for that scripture!  The first thing that popped into my mind was in the pre earth life when Christ stood in the midst of the noble and great souls and saw that they were good and said " these will I make my rulers".  It fills me with energy to find all those "noble and great ones" who have forgotten who they are and what they can become/ who Christ would have them be.
I love you so much mom!  Thank you for your prayers and for raising me up in righteousness to be out here serving the Lord.  I really owe it to you for being the example of diligence and faith.

Dear Elder Tanner,
We got your last recording to work.  We loved it!!  I think the key is to use the laptop.  That's the only computer that will open them for some reason.

I had Sister Burnside call me last night.  She called because she wanted to let me know what an awesome missionary you are.  She said that you are always happy and have been such a great example to her son.  I asked her if her son was the priest that brought Kenny to church.  She said that he was and I told her how grateful you were to him for doing that and for being so supportive to Kenny.  I found out that they were the ones that went to the hospital to see him since you couldn't go.  I was so grateful for them and for their love and support.  She told me that we would be so proud of you.  She just had to call because she was worried you might get transferred and she wanted to let us know how much they love and appreciate you.  She said they love all of the missionaries but you are the best.  They said that the ward will miss you so much if you are transferred.  It makes me think of how much we miss you as she was talking about how fun you are and what a good example you are to their kids.  I am so proud of you.

For some reason, I have worried about all three of you this week for different reasons.  I am so excited to hear how transfers went for you.  I think Tyler has transfers this week too.  I don't think Dallin's are this week, but his companion sure needs prayers.
I was talking to sweet Brother Miller (the older one).  He always asks how his boys are.  He said that there was one month in his mission when he wasn't a good companion to be with.  That gave my heart comfort.  I know we all have hard times and I guess sometimes it is our turn to comfort, help and be patient with others.  There will be times when we need that comfort as well.

This past week was my first week in Ms. Nystrom's class as the permanent sub.  It was fun.  The week just flew by!  I am trying to figure out what to change to make the class work for me.  The kids are so used to it being a certain way, so I want them to not be upset or anything but the way things are going right now is SO chaotic.  It is not a great learning environment.  It's more like recess sometimes!  There is one little boy that reminds me of you.  I just love him.  He was trying to get his work done so he could have free time, so I just told him what to write down so he could get finished quickly!  haha

We are going to take the girls skiing tomorrow at Targhee.  I hope that doesn't make you feel homesick.  They don't appreciate it as much as you guys did.  Lyndsie was asking for options other than skiing and Emrie was saying she didn't want to go.  It is so funny with just girls.  They watched the super bowl with dad and I and just played most of the time unless there was a funny commercial or Emrie was taking orders for food.

I was reading in Alma and I love 31:35.  He is trying to teach the Zoramites.  He finds the people who are humble and says.  "Behold, O Lord, their souls are precious, and many of them are our brethren; therefore, give unto us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethren, again unto thee."
We pray every day many times for your success in finding people and helping them to come unto Christ.  Since I know of the great joy and happiness from the gospel, I just want others to have that same peace.

I love you!
Love
